Churches Together of Jedburgh held a ‘Pop Up’ nativity play at St John’s church on Saturday December 15th 2012 as part of the monthly ‘Messy Church’ children’s meeting.
All the children who turned up on the day (plus a couple of parents/helpers) were involved and 10 children aged 3 to 12 were able to dress up and act out a nativity play in the church for the congregation at a short service of carols and readings. A ‘Pop Up’ play is designed to ensure that everyone is involved and with only 30 mins to dress and rehearse the play is acted out. It was a great success with all the children playing their parts wonderfully. Afterwards the children, parents and congregation all joined together for a lunch provided by the Messy Church organisers.
Messy Church is a activity organised and funded by the combined churches of Jedburgh children and their parents. Meetings include a range of activities, plus a meal, to which all children and their parents are welcome.
