St. Francis’ Day and Pet Blessing 2019

On Sunday 6 October, we took the opportunity of St. Francis of Assisi to give thanks for all the animals in our lives.

Spaniels, terriers, Labradors, cats, a chicken, a hawk and a terrapin all behaved impeccably.

Terry the terrapin – at 45, the oldest animal guest by far – has seen it all before, and took the excitement with his customary equanimity.

The eight spaniels outnumbered the choir, processing to the front of the Church with equal discipline.

After the service, a very generous donation was taken to the Food Bank.
