Dedication Festival 2019

On Sunday 18 August, we marked our 175th anniversary with a celebratory lunch at Border Meringues and a special evening service to which members of Jedburgh’s other churches and community organisations were invited.

We sang some rousing hymns, heard musical items from the choir, from organists Ted Ferguson and Isobel Portch and from visiting soloist Ruth Dorward, and a reflection from Paul Beck on St. John’s ‘then and now’. Over refreshments, visitors were able to see a display of artefacts from 1844.

To mark the anniversary, a substantial amount of historical information about the church has been added to the church website and a short ‘Walk Round guide’ produced for visitors to pick up.
